Mission Peru!
Our vision at SMBC is to see a spirit-led indigenous church planting movement born in and spread beyond the borders of Huancapi, Peru!
We are entering year four of a three to five year commitment to help the people of Huancapi, Peru and surrounding villages establish a church planting movement. Our strategy for this CPM is to plant healthy, growing, and reproducing churches that look like their culture. It is also important that these churches have the ability to carry on unhindered in the absence of our U.S. mission teams.
We are seeking to impact lostness with the simplest of methods (Bible teaching and storying) and the least intrusive of methodologies (bringing only what the Lord has put on our hearts and minds). Over the past three years, we have made nine trips where more than 25 different people from SMBC have journeyed to Huancapi. Many people have gone more than once. We have developed relationships with key people in the town and nearby villages. We are no longer looked upon as “gringos”, but as friends.
